Missed it live? Members can now re-watch our 1st Photo Critique!
The exclusive re-watch of our very first Live Photo Critique is now up in our members’ area! This is the *only* place to watch if you missed it live (we remove our live videos from Facebook an hour or so after the live session has ended – only TiR:F members are able to re-watch the video at their leisure).
This was *such* an interesting and fun session, with the fab Julia Rose-Greim and Nienke Koedijk sharing *so many* brilliant insights and advice in this almost-two hour session; so good – thanks so much to them both!
Join Us For Our First Live Photo Critique (Rescheduled Date)
Join us for our very first Facebook Live! On Tuesday May 4th 2021 (7pm BST / 8pm CEST / 2pm EDT), the fab Nienke Koedijk, Julia Rose-Greim, and myself (Alan Law, TiR:F Founder) will be doing a live critique of some of our members’ documentary family captures.
The Live will be over on our Facebook page, and viewable for everyone; not just members (but only TiR:F members are able to submit images to be critiqued, and, after the Live, the video will only be available to re-watch for members, too.)
Hope to see you there!

We’ve teamed up with This Detailed Life to give one lucky TiR:F winner an amazing prize of ALL 3 editions of the magazine to date – QUARANTINE, CELEBRATE and COLOUR (see details below)!
How To Become An Award-Winning Photographer by Sara Paolucci (Collection 5 Judge)
We’re honoured to have one of our recent judges (for Collection Five) – the fab Sara Paolucci – write this piece for us today, where she explores her thoughts on judging, and tips for becoming an award-winning photographer. She also shares some of her personal favourite awards from the Collection. That’s Sara above, along with her own Reportage Family Awards, won in previous Collections.
Collection Five Judges
Excited to reveal our judges for Collection Five! It’s an honour to have the fantastic (clockwise, from top-left) Ruan Redelinghuys (South Africa), Liesbeth Parlevliet (Netherlands), Kristof Claeys (Belgium), Sara Paolucci (Italy) and Erica Hawkins (UK) poring over our thousands of submissions for this round.
The submission deadline is just days away now: Submit by 23:59 GMT on 24th March 2021. Members receive 60 Reportage Family Award entries (for the best individual captures), and 18 Family Story Award entries (for a series of 15 – 20 images of a single family) per year, and many more benefits.
