Simon Dewey is a Derbyshire-based documentary family photographer creating honest, unscripted stories of family life. With a background in documentary wedding photography and a love of street photography, Simon approaches family photography with the same focus on observation, connection and authentic moments.

Rather than staging or directing families, Simon looks for the small interactions that reveal personality and relationships — the laughter, chaos, quiet moments and everyday gestures that become meaningful with time.

His approach is rooted in the belief that family photographs should feel like memories: imperfect, emotional and true to the people in them. Simon also works with 35mm film, embracing the slower, more intentional process and the timeless qualities of analogue photography.

Based in Derbyshire, Simon photographs families throughout the Peak District and beyond, documenting real life as it unfolds.
