I don't photograph how it looks. I photograph how it feels.

I follow how things unfold. I pay attention to behaviour, to mannerisms, the way people do things. Who reaches for whom. Which child checks their mother's face before daring something. How a father's hands go quiet when he's really listening. Most of it happens in seconds, and none of it happens on command.

Every family has its own way of doing things, and my work is learning yours fast, then waiting for it to repeat, because it always does. By the time I lift my camera, I already know what's about to happen.

I'm based in Flanders, Belgium, and I've been photographing for seventeen years.
My images are honest and a little cinematic, I love shadow and quiet light.
Years from now, you won't want a picture of how your family looked. You'll want proof of how it felt.
Be real, not perfect.
