About Me
I’m Gwendolyn Pieters, born in 1982. I grew up—and still happily live—in the beautiful province of Zeeland, close to the sea. I’m not exactly a sun-worshipper, but the beach draws me in every season. A refreshing winter walk followed by a hot chocolate or long summer evenings with friends and all the kids, watching the sun sink into the sea—it never gets old.
I am a mother, wife, sister, daughter, entrepreneur, (farewell) photographer, coach, and so much more. Together with Peter, I have two wonderful sons, Ferron and Novan.
Good food, fine wine, chocolate, creative expression in countless forms, my business, my family, and reading—these things define me in a nutshell.
Growth and Adventure
Personal growth is something I value deeply. I firmly believe that we never stop learning, and I love to continue growing and developing myself.
As a family, we are passionate about adventure and travel. We often hit the road across Europe with our customized caravan, and we love discovering new places through geocaching.
My Work Ethos
Words that describe me professionally: driven, hands-on, energetic, intuitive, creative, open-minded, and determined. A woman with a clear mission!
My intuition is essential to me, and that’s also how I photograph—straight from the heart and guided by my feelings. I instinctively know which moments, places, and perspectives matter most, allowing me to consistently capture images that truly touch my clients’ hearts. That’s the most beautiful part of my work.
As a coach, I work in the same way—fully intuitive and mission-driven. I help my coachees grow as (farewell) photographers by teaching them to trust their instincts, to openly discuss death with both themselves and their clients, and to build a business that truly aligns with them.
My Mission
As a specialized farewell photographer, I witness every day how death remains a difficult topic to discuss. I find that challenging because wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could talk more openly about it? If we were more aware of our loved ones’ wishes and better informed about the possibilities surrounding saying goodbye?
I too often hear people say, “If only I had known…”—whether it’s about farewell photography or other choices they wish they had made. That’s why my mission is crystal clear: to break the taboo around death and farewells so that no one ever has to regret the choices they made.
Bringing death into the conversation—within ourselves and our lives.
With our families, our friends, our inner circle.
Talking about life and death together.
We are born, and one day we will die.
We document everything in our lives, every milestone.
We share everything online, discuss countless topics.
Let’s make death part of that conversation too.
