About Irma

Irma is a documentary family photographer born in the Netherlands and living in Brighton & Hove. Originally from a small town near Utrecht, she has lived in Australia, Argentina, Guatemala, Costa Rica and Sri Lanka, before moving to the UK in 2012. She has always had a passion for photography, and loved taking photos all over the world on her travels, before she moved to England, got married, had a baby girl and started her business.

She loves the joy, fun, humour and happy chaos of family life - something she tries to reflect in her work. Looking for inspiration when the global COVID-19 pandemic and ensuing London ‘lockdown’ hit, she embarked on her “Life in Lockdown” doorstep portraits project. That project recently became her first exhibition.
