About Claudia

I was a documentary photographer before I knew what documentary photography was.

Running around as a kid with that simple photo camera, annoying all my friends, family, teachers and even my crush with taking nonstop pictures to save memories, shows me retrospectively: I always was a documentary photographer.

This became even more clear to me when I later recognized, that I mostly photographed the sideshows in my first photo assignments and less the actual staging for which I was booked for. My clients thanked me for that. And I thanked them for letting me final recognize, that Documentary is the only thing I want to do.

It is important to me to also show and de-taboo the end of a family life as it has been, in addition to the beginning of a new life and the everyday life of families. I want to give people memories to hold onto in their farewell.
